    Measurements are for the garment laid flat, not the body. A chest width, measured 1 inch (2.5 cm) below the armhole. double it for the circumference. B shoulder to hem. C shoulder seam to sleeve opening. Supplier measurements; each piece may vary by up to 2″ (5 cm).

    Lay a T-shirt you like flat and compare its measurements with this chart. The fit is relaxed. Choose the smaller size for a closer fit or the larger size for more room.

    100% ring-spun cotton. Fabric weight: 6.1 oz/yd² (207 g/m²). Garment-dyed for a soft, washed-in feel, with a double-needle collar and hems and twill tape at the neck and shoulders.

    Garment dyeing creates subtle variations in shade between batches. Your garment may look slightly different from the images.

    Wash inside out in cold water. Tumble dry low or hang to dry. Do not bleach or iron the print. Follow the garment care label.

    The print

    The phrase in brush lettering, short handwritten notes around the phrase and a numbered stamp for your initials. Printed in charcoal and rust brown as a halftone that lets the shirt show through, so the print stays soft.

    The print is about 9 × 12″ (23 × 31 cm), centered on the chest, and on the back if you choose it, at the same price. Colors and placement may vary slightly from the preview.

    We ship to the United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Shipping is $6, free from $95, and the delivery estimate is shown before payment. Price includes VAT. No additional taxes or duties within the EU. Import duties and taxes, if any, are payable by you on delivery.

    The story

    It’s brick. Two words for the cold.

    In New York speech, it’s brick means it is extremely cold. Here brick is an adjective for the weather, not a building material. The use comes from African American English in New York and the surrounding area, with printed examples recorded in the 1990s.

    It is not a measured temperature or an official weather term. It is what someone says before pulling a scarf tighter.
